Electrofusion Fittings Fitting Pressure Rating and Pipe Compatibility

PLASSON Fittings weld to PE80, PE100, PE100-RC and PEX-A pipes. Check that the pipe SDR is compatible with the PLASSON fittings. The range of compatible pipe SDR’s for each specific fitting is defined on the fitting barcode label. For questions regarding general pipe SDR compatibility refer to PLASSON literature or contact your local PLASSON representative. The following is a general guideline for PLASSON EF product pipe. SDR compatibility (in any case of discrepancy between the figure below and the figure on the barcode label, always refer to the barcode data). Material All PLASSON Electrofusion fittings are produced from material class PE100 which conform to international standards for potable water and natural or suitable manufactured gas systems. Standards PLASSON Electrofusion fittings are Certified to: ƒ EN12201:3 for Water ƒ EN1555:3 for Gas ƒ All Plasson EF fittings comply with DWi Regulation 31 for water quality and are approved (up to 315mm) to UK Water Reg4. PLASSON’s standard Electrofusion Fittings: ƒ PN 16 (Water) ƒ PE100 SDR11 (Gas) ƒ Up to 75mm (inclusive) are Weldable to Pipes SDR 11 ƒ Elbows and Tees of main diameter 40mm-75mm SDR 11 to 17 ƒ 90mm & Up are Weldable to Pipes SDR 11 to 17 ƒ 63-75mm Tapping Saddles and Valves are suitable for SDR 11 to 17 ƒ 225mm elbows SDR 11 to 21 ƒ 250mm elbows SDR 11 to 26 ƒ Tapping Saddles 90mm and above SDR 11 to 17 ƒ Tapping Saddles below 90mm SDR 11 LightFit: ƒ PN 10 (Water) ƒ PE100 SDR17 (Gas) ƒ 40mm to 50mm are Weldable to Pipes SDR 11 to 17 ƒ 63>90mm are Weldable to Pipes SDR 11 to 26 ƒ 110mm>1000mm are Weldable to Pipes SDR 11 to SDR33 and in some cases SDR41 (see website for details)

Super Lightfit: available for pipe sizes 500>1000mm, suitable for pipework SRD17 to 41.

High Pressure Couplers: PN25 couplers available for pipe sizes 50mm to 355mm, for pipework SDR7 to 11. Dimensional suitability: Measure the pipe external diameter toward the pipe end using a Pi tape. The pipe external diameter must be within the tolerances defined in International standards such as EN 1555-2 and EN 12201-2. Measure the pipe external diameter toward the pipe end using a Pi tape to determine suitability. Electrofusion, welding and cooling times are specified on the individual products. Welding times can also be recognised by appropriately equipped control boxes through the red pin connector or barcode. Pin Size: 4.0mm Voltage: 40V unless stated Control box current capacity: <400mm 60/80amp / >400mm 80/110amp Generators must be suitable for current load and be equipped with an automatic voltage regulator. Due to design considerations, we recommend the use of Controllers with barcode reading facilities for the following products: ƒ Couplers above 400mm

ƒ Flex Restraint ƒ Sensor Saddle
