Mechanical

PLASSON mechanical fittings offer solutions for connecting PE pipes, used for conveying water and other fluids in urban and inter-urban infrastructure, industrial, mining, landscape, farming as well as optical fibre duct systems. The fittings are designed to withstand working pressures of up to 16bar, and also include valves which allow the regulation of flow. Barrier

The UK’s only range of fittings with approval on multiple manufacturers barrier pipes, 25, 32 and 63mm.

Barrier pipe is a reinforced PE pipe used to protect water supplies where laid in what is commonly known as contaminated ground. It is easily identified by the brown stripe on the blue pipe. Although barrier pipe is defined as 25, 32 and 63mm, the OD of the pipe is actually larger, for example, 25mm barrier pipe OD may be between 26.2mm and 27.8mm.

The PLASSON Barrier fitting has been specifically designed to accommodate all sizes between the tolerances stated in BS8588, the British Standard for water pipes in contaminated ground.

Ensuring no contact between the protective aluminium layer in the barrier pipe and the drinking water, you can have confidence that the PLASSON Barrier fitting will provide a completely secure method to maintain the full system protection barrier pipe installations require.

PLASSON Barrier Fittings have UK Water Reg4 approval, conform to BS6920 and independent test certification for permeation testing in accordance with BS8588 on all the leading brands of barrier pipe.

Full bore 1/4 turn ball valve with a drain port option, for mains isolation Manufactured from glass reinforced polyamide, the 3703 now provides an alternative solution to the traditionally used gunmetal and dzr stop valves. The 3703 is a UK Water Reg4 approved stop valve for 11/2”/50mm and 2”/63mm mains pipe manufactured from non metallic materials. The 3/4” - 2” range give a full bore alternative to the standard stop tap. Approved to BS8588:2017 the 3703 is the new standard for use in contaminated ground, at all sizes.
